Workshops & Individual Sessions
Art has the ability to engage people on a multi-sensory level, which can assist them to connect with their inner thoughts, feelings, and repressed emotions. The Meditation aspect precedes the art process, which encourages people to accept all these facets of self, (even negative emotions) without judgment or repression but to also meet this with compassion. However, these aspects can be hidden in the subconscious, and art can help bring them out. Art serves as a means through which creators can hold internal discussions, but also talk about emotions and feelings that arise during the meditation and integrative art process.
Whether this is in a group dynamic setting or on an individual basis, the format is held in the same way.
We will begin the session with some meditation and breath work, to assist in dropping deeply into the body and the presence of the current state of being.
During the session you may begin to notice thoughts or emotions rising to the surface.
The integrative art process will allow you the space to explore this further and then we will have a discussion to integrate all that presents itself for you.
It is a very powerful healing process and can also be followed by you hopping on the table to receive any of the other modalities that I offer so that it is a tailored package perse.
This is an in-person offering, though can be facilitated online and is available world-wide in timezones compatible with Brisbane, Queensland circadian rhythms.

WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Sound Meditation can be so therapeutically beneficial as it assists in calming the bodies systems and the parasympathetic nervous system, as well as create and strengthening neural pathways. Sound Meditation can be likened to things such as sport, hobbies and our passions, that of all which require practice, although this choice, allows our whole body system, relax, restore and create new cellular structure.
A daily practice is very important to assist in moving through and dealing with the happenings of what life gives you. It helps to expand your awareness and provide that mindfulness, that is so important in dealing with stress, anger and thoughts that may not be real. It helps to bring you back to self, as you learn presence and to be here in this very moment allowing compassion and its application to your present situation.
Sound Healing and Meditation trains your conscious mind to experience the inner depths of your own nature. When we allow ourselves to enter into altered states of consciousness through deep, profound rest we can then readily tap into our own unlimited source of energy, creativity and inner joy and peace.
WHAT IS TRAUMA?
Most of us think of trauma as an event such as a serious car accident, or something physical, like domestic violence or sexual assault. These are definitely traumatic events. Though the definition of trauma also includes situations such as repeated, long-term emotional abuse, or even over-training that can cause the body to lock itself into a specific, recognized pattern. Such as having parents that are chronic alcoholics or drug addicts. This becomes a subconscious program that is constantly running and the great thing is, is that you have the power to create change.
Noted acupuncturist Nicole Cutler, L. Ac. writes that “Traumas can be considered anything that keep us locked in a physical, emotional, behavioral or mental habit. Recovery from trauma is the process of the body finding balance and freeing itself from constraints. All too often, the recovery process is halted, preventing the traumatic occurrence from completing.”
Eastern medicine and thought have long ago made the connection between our body and our mind. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) takes this idea one step further with the view that we are all connected to the earth and the surrounding universe. Most Native and Aboriginal cultures recognize the mind/body connection as well as the deeper connection to the universe. Somehow we in the West fell off that wagon, and it’s only now that we’re trying to get back on.
